Inspired by my kids' favorite show of the summer, Phineas and Ferb, we decided to make a list of fun things we wanted to do this summer. We moved from Michigan (with a late-ending school year) to Missouri (with an early-starting school year), so we calculated a short summer of only 60 days. Add a big move to a new house, and we didn't have much time, but we tried to make the most of it. Of the 91 items on our list, we did 46. Below, I've underlined the ones we accomplished. Some we chose to skip due to budget constraints, but most of the ones we missed are either making it to our fall fun list or are saved for next year. All in all, it was a fun summer!

I did take pictures of some of the things we did. And, my brothers were a really big part of the fun. Mitch and Alex made these awesome stilts for us to try (I'm afraid of saws). They are way harder to walk on than they look! I had to practice for quite a while to be able to go 6 steps. Mitch and Alex were pros, and my dad just hopped on and walked across the whole driveway. I guess he had some as a kid, and we just never knew about his stilt skills! We also made a safer and easier pair for Audrey and Luke.
Here are some pics of our popsicle stick bows with q-tip arrows. Alex was the engineer of this project, even creating wrist quivers for the "arrows". They worked great!
I threw this together one afternoon while Max was napping. It's my quick and easy version of Angry Birds, with animal bowling guys standing in for the pigs, balls as the birds, and an exercise band as a catapult. Lots of fun! Note: it was actually easier to tie one side of the band to a tree and have me hold the other side, I just don't have a picture of that. It was kind of hard for Audrey to hold it strong enough to get a good pullback. And, footballs were the easiest balls for the kids to shoot.
