Tweaked Tag

I'm supposed to list 8 of my favorite t.v. shows, things I did yesterday, things I'm looking forward to, favorite restaurants, and things on my wish list.  I decided to change it a bit.

I don't really watch t.v. (except for an occasional American Idol or sporting event), and I've already listed my favorite movies in the past, so here are the 10 Books I Am Working on Right Now.  Yes, I read several books at one time.
1.  Spanish Stories/Cuentos Espanoles edited by Flores
2.  Death of a Tsar by Marcum
3.  Leaves of Grass by Whitman
4.  Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde by Stevenson
5.  Short Story Masterpieces edited by Warren and Erskine
6.  Jesus the Christ by Talmage
7.  Book of Mormon
8.  The Art of Eric Carle
9.  two different history books about Russia
10.  a cultural guide to Canada

8 Things I Did Yesterday
1.  Did my favorite exercise video
2.  Did laundry
3.  Went to the library and checked out 10 books for the kids and 4 for myself
4.  Walked home from the library with my kids in a downpour
5.  Wished I had checked the weather forecast before I left the house
6.  Ate a piece of Easter candy and felt guilty
7.  Contemplated throwing away the remaining candy, but just couldn't do it
8.  Went grocery shopping with Clay

8 Things I'm Looking Forward To
1.  Getting to my goal weight (I'm fearing this may never happen)
2.  Seeing my family again
3.  Summer
4.  Finishing residency
5.  Being out of debt
6.  Finishing another book
7.  Waterskiing
8.  More kids (just not right now)

I can't really think of 8 favorite restaurants, as I usually like to try new ones like I try new recipes.  (I do always like Panera Bread and Ginger Beef in Calgary).  So, here are 8 Foods I Eat Almost Every Day.
1.  Natural peanut butter
2.  Bananas
3.  Wheat Bread or wheat tortillas
4.  Popcorn
5.  Baby carrots
6.  Milk
7.  Oatmeal
8.  Some type of chocolate

I am in a very content mood today and not wishing for much, so I'll end this post and go try not to eat more Easter candy while I read about Russia.  If you're in the mood, I'd love to read some lists of 8 all about you!

Grandpa and Grandma!

For the second half of Clay's week off, we were blessed to have his parents come all the way from Calgary to visit.  We don't get to see them very often, and we were all really excited.  Of course, we had to have a lot of pizza.

We were lucky to get really great, warm weather while they were here, so we spent a lot of time playing outside and at parks.  Sports are always at the top of Luke's to-do list, and Audrey's favorite thing is always to swing.

On Saturday, our happy moods were sobered by the news that Clay's uncle had been killed in a car accident.  It made it even harder to say goodbye the next day, knowing that we don't get to spend nearly enough time with our families.  We might possibly have bored them to death, but we were so glad to have Bryce and Becky come visit.  We had such a great time seeing them, and we are missing them a lot already!

A Week Off

After our water-park weekend flop in February, we learned that spending a lot of money doesn't always guarantee a good time.  For Clay's week off, we decided to take it easy and hang out around our place.

Girls Doing Girl Stuff

We also played at Pump It Up, did some jobs that we needed to do, and ended our few days of family time with a tour of the River Rouge Ford Factory where they make F-150s.  It was a pretty neat tour with interactive videos that showed the history of the Motor City's first major plant, Henry Ford's contributions to early auto manufacturing, and how they actually put the trucks together.

Easter Week

A candy-filled Easter week began with a package from Grandma Allphin.  When I excitedly ran upstairs to try on my new dress, the kids busted into the good stuff.

Here we are at the city's Easter Egg Hunt.  It was CRAZY!  The actual hunt lasted about 25 seconds.

Check out those dimples!

Coloring Eggs

Our Primary had a really great egg hunt, but Luke was too fast for me to catch a picture of him.

Easter Morning

We tried hard to get a picture in our matching Easter clothes, but it didn't happen.  Oh well!  And, besides all of us turning into sugar-crazed maniacs all week, we did do a lot of fun and spiritual crafts and activities each day having to do with the Atonement.  The week culminated with Clayton and I speaking in church, and it was really nice to step away from candy and bunnies and focus on what it's really all about.
